More My Digital Studio Free Trial Goodies

Let’s finish up this little series about the 30 day free trial of My Digital Studio Express. :)

Below you will find pictures of the rest of the items, minus all of the card stock, you will receive in your free trial of MDS Express. I love the picture of all of the ribbon colors! It’s like a gorgeous Stampin’ Up! ribbon rainbow! :)

Basic Punch Shapes

Basic Punch Shapes

Look at all of those punches! Can you believe that? Those are just about all of the punches people use on a very regular basis. They are “generic” enough to work on any project in any style! And a huge bonus of doing a digital layout is that you can resize the punched paper!!! Amazing? Yes!

Another bonus to using My Digital Studio is that you can test out these punches and ribbons to see how they would look on your card or scrapbook layout. If you have an idea for a card or layout but you don’t want to “waste” your good stuff, just try it out in MDS first! It’s like making a sketch only a million times better!! You get to see exactly how it will look. You may like it so much in the digital version that you add some drop shadows and texture and print it out! LOL! (This has totally happened to me.)

It’s especially nice for gifting layouts. They are much easier to ship and you don’t have to physically make all of the copies to gift. Great for Christmas, birth announcements, wedding invitations, etc!

I would love to see what you do with your free trial of My Digital Studio Express!

Be sure to share a link in the comments below so everyone can ooo and ahh over your creations. ;)

Templates in My Digital Studio Express Free Trial

Today, I want to share the templates that you will be getting with your 30 day My Digital Studio Express free trial. They are wicked cute and completely customisable!

The MDS Express free trial comes with five templates in all. Two are postcards, two are cards and one is for an entire photobook! When I said they are customisable, I mean that you can alter them HOWEVER you like. You can change the colors, add shading or text, etc. Whatever your little heart desires. :)

Here are the templates that are included in the MDS Express free trial:

Hip Hip Hooray Template

Hip Hip Hooray Card

Wedding Vows Postcard Template

Baby Shower Invite

Snowy Postcard Template

Sweet Details Photobook Template

How stinking cute are those?! I absolutely love them all. Surely that is more than enough to convince you to grab your free 30 day trial! :D

When you get your free trial, you will have the full 30 days to try it out. At the end of the 30 days you will be prompted to go to the Stampin’ Up! online store and purchase either the full MDS program or to keep MDS Express. Your choice! You don’t HAVE to purchase anything. But, who are we kidding? You are going to try it out and LOVE it. Just like I did. LOL!!!

When I first got MDS, I was really not expecting to love it like I do. I have done more than my fair share of digital scrapbooking and I didn’t think that anything like My Digital Studio or My Digital Studio Express would make much difference beyond what I was already doing. I was dead wrong! It is so user friendly that anyone can get started quickly and easily. And I do mean anyone.

If you do get My Digital Studio, free trial included, and you have troubles…email me! I can help you! That’s what I am here for. I can call you can walk you through it, make you a short video or just email back and forth. Whatever would be easiest for you. :)

Christmas Gift Tag

I have received quite a few orders for Christmas gift tags, so I thought I would quickly share one of them with you! These are so cute and they really aren’t difficult. They just take a bit of time. ;)

Christmas Tree Gift Tag

The little tree on this Christmas gift tag is from Fun & Fast Notes (retired), but I will list my Top Five choices of trees to use instead if you aren’t lucky enough to own Fun & Fast Notes. :)

SUPPLIES:

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Cut the number of tags you need from either Very Vanilla or Whisper White Card Stock and round the corners. Mine are 2 x 3″.
  • Line up your Christmas gift tags “assembly line” style and stamp your image
  • Give them a few minutes to dry or heat set them with a quick blast from a Heat Tool
  • Color the tree with a green Watercolor Pencil and go over it with the OMS and a fine stump
  • Decorate the tree with various colors of Stampin’ Write Markers
  • Punch the hole in the top if you’re hanging these and run the Ribbon or Baker’s Twine through the hole
  • For my own use, I would have hit the edges lightly with a great Christmas color and a Sponge Dauber
Cute little Christmas gift tag, right?!

If you want me to make these Christmas gift tags for you, you need to order them IMMEDIATELY to receive them before Christmas without having to pay overnight shipping.

10% Discount for Giving Back

Stampin' Up! Make a Difference

I wanted to share this with you, from the Stampin’ Up! homepage and offer you a 10% discount on any order placed in December just for you giving back:

“At Stampin’ Up!, we believe in making a difference in the lives of others–whether they’re our demonstrators, our employees, the people who use our products, or children in need of a way to express their creativity.

Since 2005, Stampin’ Up! has been honored to participate in the TODAY Show’s Holiday Toy Drive. This year, Stampin’ Up! will be donating over $500,000 worth of stamping and paper crafting products to the following organizations:

  • Action for Boston Community Development Inc.
  • Alliance for Children’s Rights
  • Boys & Girls Clubs Harford County
  • Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York
  • Community Partners of Dallas – Rainbow Room
  • Diocese of Saint Augustine
  • Friendship Project
  • Help USA
  • Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN)
  • Kids In Need Foundation
  • National Council of Jewish Women, Cleveland Section – The Dignity Project
  • Operation Homefront
  • Puerto Rican Family Institute
  • St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital
  • Stephen Siller Foundation/Katrina Fund
  • Welcome House
  • Youthbuild USA

In conjunction with the donation, Stampin’ Up!’s Shelli Gardner will make an appearance on NBC’s TODAY Show on Tuesday, December 6. We are honored and excited to once again participate in this annual holiday tradition of giving back and making a difference!”

How cool is that?! This is just one of the many reasons I love this company. It really is fantastic to be associated with such a caring and giving group of individuals. I urge you this holiday season to get out there and volunteer at one of the organizations above, or a local charity that you believe in. You have no idea how much it will mean to those that you are helping.

We have sort of adopted feeding the homeless as our family mission. Here are a few ways we do this and maybe you can too!

  • Our sons gave their Christmas money from their Poppop to the homeless shelter last year
  • Each year we collect cans of food with the Cub Scouts
  • We served food to the homeless in a park in downtown Memphis with church
  • Donate to the Food Bank either directly or by buying pre-made bags at the grocery store
  • Volunteer at the homeless shelter (sort food, sort clothing, hand out items, etc)
These are five very doable ways to give back this year! Some only require your time. If we can do this with our kids who were as young as 5, you can totally do this! Make wise choices, please. Some situations are seriously not safe to do alone. It saddens me to say that, but it’s true.
I would love to know how you give back, or plan to give back!

If you leave a comment below with your Making a Difference plans, I will give you a 10% discount valid on any purchase in December.

Christmas Card – My Digital Studio

Snowflake Christmas Card made with My Digital Studio

I wanted to see how quickly I could make a card using My Digital Studio today. I had no plan beforehand, other than to make a simple Christmas card. This is what I came up with…in less than 10 minutes.

Christmas Card Snowflake MDS

This card was made with items I received when I purchased My Digital Studio Express (124483). The background is Cherry Cobbler and I used the “Match Color” selection for the rest because the actual colors were a bit off for me. I used the Snowflake Punch, Circle Punch and Scallop Circle Punch. The size doesn’t really matter because you can click and grab to enlarge it.  ;)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Start a new project in My Digital Studio and choose Cards & Tags; Greeting Card; 4 ¼ x 5 ½” Portrait; Create Your Own and then name your project.
  2. The background is going to be Cherry Cobbler Card Stock.
  3. Next, click Embellishments; Add Embellishment; choose your ribbon and click Apply. Add the Drop Shadow.
  4. Punches; Add Punch; Extras; Snowflake. Hit Apply. Do Match Color using the lightest color in your ribbon. Add the Drop Shadow.
  5. Next is the circle. Punches; Add Punch; Basics; 1.25 Circle Punch. Match Color on the darkest color in your ribbon. Add the Drop Shadow.
  6. Last is the scallop. Punches; Add Punch; Basics; Scallop Circle Punch. Match Color on the mid-level color in your ribbon. Add the Drop Shadow.
  7. Time to layer! (This is just a bit of “fudging” with the sizes to make them exactly how you want.) Click and drag the circle to make it perfect for your snowflake. Once you have it, put the snowflake on top of the circle, click Arrange; Group.
  8. Now do the same for the scallop. Click and drag the scallop until it’s perfect for the circle. Place the circle/snowflake on top of the scallop and click Arrange; Group. Move both to their spot on the card.
Done!
Right now My Digital Studio Express comes with a free bonus bundle as part of Stampin’ Up!’s Online Extravaganza! The bonuses can be seen here. You can purchase My Digital Studio Express here and receive a coupon for one free class and be entered to win a stamp set valued at $24.99 or less!

Thankful

What I am thankful for…

I am of the opinion that we don’t express our appreciation and thankfulness nearly enough. We’ve become such a self-absorbed planet! (You know I’m not lying.)

Today, in honor of Thanksgiving, I want to share my Thankful Top Ten.

I am thankful for…

  1. knowing the way and the truth and the life  (John 14:6)
  2. my fantastic husband who KNOWS me and yet still LOVES me :D
  3. our wonderful sons who bring meaning to my every day
  4. my mom…aka my hero
  5. having food on the table and a roof over our heads when so many people don’t have those simple luxuries
  6. having friends and family that support and love me no matter what hair-brained idea I come up with
  7. the freedom to own my own business, homeschool our children, speak my mind, believe what I want to believe, go where I want to go
  8. our troops that lay down their lives to guarantee our freedom
  9. healing, in every meaning of the word
  10. this life.
What are you thankful for? What one thing would turn your world upside down if it was gone tomorrow? If it is a person or what they do, let them know! If it is God, let Him know! Don’t take things for granted!!!
Be thankful.
Give thanks.
Show appreciation.

Full Heart Punch Flower

Making a Full Heart Punch flower is so fun and easy!

You are going to LOVE it!

I love punch art. I do. There is something so satisfying about taking basic shapes and creating a whole new project! We are going to be using the Full Heart Punch for our cute little flower today.

Stampin' Up! Full Heart Punch

Full Heart Punch from Stampin' Up!

This is so easy, you’re going to love this. Our Full Heart Punch flower is made from eight punched hearts. I used Whisper White Card Stock for my flower. Whisper White works really well because you can take a Sponge Dauber and the Classic Stampin’ Pad of your choice to hit the edges of your petals for custom colored flowers!

Here is my little Whisper White Full Heart Punch flower:

Full Heart Punch Flower

Full Heart Punch Flower

How cute is that?! I just used a knot of ribbon for the center and called it good! I wanted the clean, crisp contrast between the Whisper White of the flower petals and the bright yellow of the ribbon. That’s why I chose not to sponge the edges on this one.

I know it’s crazy that I didn’t hit the edges with ink. That’s seriously my MO. What can I say? Sometimes I like the clean and modern stylings! Don’t judge me! :D

What do you think? Do you love this little guy? Do you have the Full Heart Punch from Stampin’ Up! or have you been holding off on getting it?

Order your Full Heart Punch through me now and receive a pdf with a picture tutorial of how to make this cute flower punch art!

If you already own the Full Heart Punch, you can order any other punch through my online store and I will still send you this pdf. :)

Honor a Veteran on Veteran’s Day

11/11/2011 by Vegan Stamper | 0 comments

Today is Veteran’s Day.

First, here is a great video about Veteran’s Day. Watch it to the end and read the list of 10 Ways to Honor a Veteran on Veteran’s Day.

10 Easy Ways to Honor a Veteran on Veteran’s Day

  1. Buy them a cup of coffee at your local café.
  2. Make them a scrapbook to chronicle their service to our country.
  3. Buy them lunch.
  4. Make a special dinner for them.
  5. Make a contribution to the USO in their honor or memory.
  6. Rake their yard without asking or being asked.
  7. Send flowers to the widow of a Veteran expressing your gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
  8. You can support Veterans with PTSD and your Veteran buy purchasing “The Coin” from the One in a Million Fund and giving it to your Vet.
  9. A personalized journal for a Veteran suffering from PTSD could really help them express what is in their heart and head.
  10. Simply tell them Thank You. Thank you for their service. Thank you for their sacrifice. Thank you for protecting our country and our freedoms.
Just do something. One thing. One thing to honor a Veteran. Our Veterans need to know that we truly are thankful for all they do.

What will your One Thing be?
